TC’s Founder wins EY Foundation’s Positive Impact Award

Our founder Emmanuel “Manny” Ebokosia, has yet again proved his passion and dedication to True Cadence by being awarded the Positive Impact Award by the EY Foundation.

Manny had recently participated in EY Foundation’s Accelerate Programme, which offers workshops and webinars for social entrepreneurs who focus on supporting young people. As a music business social enterprise, True Cadence has supported many talented young artists in their creative journey through mentorship, employment, external live performance opportunities, tailored artistic development and more. As a result, the True Cadence beneficiaries become confident in expressing themselves and gain many invaluable skills that contribute to their independence and artistic growth.

“As a lived-experience leader, I don’t do this for the recognition; I do it to create a positive change in my environment. However, It’s a nice feeling when others notice’ your efforts, especially those outside of True Cadence. It shows you’re doing something right.” Manny E.C. Ebokosia

EY Foundation recognised Manny’s hard work in the Accelerate Programme and within True Cadence by honouring him with The Positive Impact Award. According to EY Foundation, Manny deserves the award “for always being positive and engaging with every being and issue!” The cheerful congratulations from the True Cadence coworkers, especially the participants, speak tons about the life-changing opportunities they received thanks to the TC programmes, particularly the current funded programme The Expression Project.

And what does the Positive Impact Award mean to Manny? “It means a lot from a social entrepreneur’s perspective. I do this because I care about my community“, says Manny and adds that it can be a bit of a lonely journey when an organisation is passionate about doing good but is faced with limited resources. For that reason, Manny admits, “As a lived-experience leader, I don’t do this for the recognition; I do it to create a positive change in my environment. However, It’s a nice feeling when others notice’ your efforts, especially those outside of True Cadence. It shows you’re doing something right“.

Hopefully, this award has given True Cadence the extra fuel to do even more good on a much larger scale.
