Unleash your Creativity: Summer Holiday 2025

Looking for something fun, creative and meaningful this summer? The True Cadence HAF Programme is runs from 4 to 7 August 2025, and it’s completely free for children aged 8 to 11 who are eligible for benefit-related free school meals. Sessions take place from 12PM to 4PM each day at Heath Park Community Centre in Dagenham, with a nutritious meal included alongside a packed programme of exciting activities.
This summer holiday, we’re running a special week of songwriting and performance workshops where children can explore music, build confidence and express themselves in a safe and supportive space. They’ll get the chance to write their own songs, learn vocal techniques, and play with words and rhythm in ways that feel fun and empowering. Whether they’re shy or full of energy, it’s a space for everyone to get involved and feel proud of what they create.
The sessions will help you:
  • Conquer your fears about having your work critiqued by others
  • Develop your songwriting skills and learn to write better songs
  • Put your feelings down on paper clearly and poetically
  • Spark new ideas and creative inspiration by working with other songwriters
The aim is simple: to provide young people with a space to be themselves, connect with others, and try something new. And maybe, along the way, discover just how much they’re capable of.

Working on an EP with other members of True Cadence dramatically improved my songwriting skills. It gave me the confidence to be vulnerable and write songs that were inspired by some of my darkest times.
