This is a freelance position, and the role holder is expected to deliver sustainable and inclusive, high-quality music-making activities for our young people. This will be achieved through the dynamic development and implementation of True Cadence programmes. As a Music Activity Facilitator, you will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging tailored music workshops and activities for different groups of young people aged, 8-25 years. You will work closely with our team to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where participants can explore their musical talents and develop their skills.
Ideally, your area(s)of expertise, falls into the following categories:
- Songwriting facilitator (various genres including hip hop)
- Fun and engaging music activities for kids
- Vocal Coaching

- This is a freelance position with competitive hourly rates commensurate with experience and qualifications.
- £15-£40 per hour depending on the project and budget.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Delivering high-quality music workshops to the participants
- Liaising regularly with the Programmes and Operations Manager about the progress and timing of the workshops.
- Ensuring all activities are set up to ensure best practices in relation to safeguarding children, young people and adults at risk
- Adhering to health and safety risk assessment procedures
- Working within True Cadence present framework of plan, do, review and improve programme outcomes
- Providing written feedback to support the monitoring and evaluation of the programme.
- Ensuring that all programme activities are carried out in compliance with True Cadence safeguarding policies.
QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of three years’ experience working with children, and young people
- Minimum of two years’ experience working as a music activity facilitator, songwriting or vocal coaching tutor depending on the role you’re applying for.
- A degree in a relevant field would also be an added advantage
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Skills and experience:
- Strong music background with proficiency in at least one musical instrument
- Experience working with young people in a community or educational setting
- Interpersonal skills and excellent communication both written and oral
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging and age-appropriate music activities
- Commitment to equity, inclusivity and diversity in programme management
- A proven track record of developing innovative programmes of work in education and community settings
- The ability to work within established policies and procedures
- Effective time management, ability to judge and prioritise, and proven ability of working towards deadlines
- Understanding and commitment to safeguarding children, young people and adults at risk
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
