Fundraising Coordinator [Volunteer] (TCVFC)
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in driving the success of a growing community organisation through effective income generation and fundraising management. In this role, you will oversee and coordinate a range of fundraising activities, working closely with employees, trustees, and volunteers to maximise income from diverse sources. You will be responsible for recruiting, managing, and motivating volunteer fundraisers, ensuring they have the support and guidance needed to succeed. As a core part of our fundraising efforts, your work will directly influence the range and quality of services True Cadence can offer to our service users. We are looking for someone who is passionate, enthusiastic, and resilient, with a proactive approach and a strong sense of integrity. The ideal candidate will be organised, creative, and a team player, capable of building positive relationships and adapting to a dynamic environment.
OUTLINE
Location (Hybrid): Home-based and BEC 2, Barking and Dagenham Foyer, 50 Wakering Road, Barking, IG11 8GN.
Time Commitment: 5 hours per week (minimum). There are no maximum hours you can offer this support.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement fundraising strategies to generate income from diverse sources, including events, individual donors, and corporate partnerships.
- Recruit, manage, and support a team of volunteer fundraisers, providing training and guidance to help them achieve their targets.
- Coordinate and oversee the planning, promotion, and execution of fundraising events and campaigns.
- Work closely with the board of trustees, employees, and volunteers to align fundraising activities with the organisation’s goals.
- Monitor and report on the progress of fundraising initiatives, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.
- Build and maintain relationships with key donors, supporters, and local community groups.
- Ensure all fundraising activities comply with relevant legal and ethical standards.
- Explore new opportunities for income generation, including grant applications and sponsorship deals.
- Maintain accurate records of fundraising activities and donations, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Represent the organisation at community events, networking opportunities, and fundraising activities.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Skills and Qualities:
- Experience in fundraising: Previous experience in fundraising or income generation, whether in a paid or voluntary capacity.
- Strong organisational skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, coordinate events, and handle various fundraising activities effectively.
- Leadership and team management: Experience in recruiting, managing, and motivating volunteers or teams.
- Excellent communication skills: Both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and inspire supporters, donors, and volunteers.
- Relationship building: Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with donors, corporate sponsors, and the local community.
- Creative thinking: Ability to develop innovative fundraising ideas and adapt strategies to maximise income generation.
- Event planning and coordination: Experience organising and running successful fundraising events or campaigns.
- Budgeting and financial awareness: Understanding of financial targets and how to manage budgets in relation to fundraising activities.
- Proactive and self-motivated: Ability to work independently, take initiative, and see projects through to completion.
- Attention to detail: Ensuring accuracy in record-keeping, reporting, and compliance with fundraising regulations.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of fundraising platforms: Familiarity with digital fundraising tools, social media campaigns, or online giving platforms.
- Experience in grant writing: Knowledge of how to research, write, and submit grant applications.
- Public speaking or presentation skills: Confidence in representing the organisation at public events or when speaking to groups.
Qualifications:
- While a degree is not essential, experience in a related field such as charity work, community engagement, or event management would be beneficial.
- Any relevant certifications in fundraising, event management, or volunteer management are an added bonus, but not required.
